"Eyes Closed" is her new single. She dives deep into a woman's psyche, into a relationship we can all commiserate with. Losing one but gaining another without the release of closure. It's a sad tale to be told, but Halsey makes it ethereal and understanding.
"I know what to say
It's all the same
And I, I know how to play
I know this game
It's all the same"
Reminding us still that love is played as if it was a game of sport, and not being the least bit sorry about it. Halsey has not been one to mince lyrics, she is up front and honest, and her sweet vocals compliment everything into a mixing pot of raw real music the way it should be!
"But you've been replaced
I'm face to face with someone new"
is something we can all relate to. We as unnaturally monogamous humans, need a push from time to time into the reality of love and its language. There are short and long love stories, and in my opinion music helps guide those who let it through the magnificently torturous ride that is love.
"So tell me how to move on
Would've trade it all for you, cared for you"
(My lover, my liar)
Asking the questions, that are never truly answered. All the while leaving us thinking in the end. When an artist lets us in their heart it makes the musical experience all the more enjoyable. Halsey is rising and she is letting us deep inside!
